Shugo Tokumaru Paper Stop Motion music video. The Japanese singer and songwriter, Shugo Tokumaru’s paper stop motion music video for his song Katachi, is a wonderful way to kill 3 min of your life. Katachi translates to form, shape or figure in Japanese.  Something like a movie soundtrack, the feel good song is the perfect bond of form, shape, visual and audible movement.

Created for Shugo by animation team Katarzyna Kijek and Przemysław Adamski, I can only sit in appreciation and visualize the time involved in creating this fabulous 3 dimensional art through stop motion. Stop motion animation is nothing new, but it’s full of character. The endless array silhouettes and perspectives building fluid movement is brilliant and something everyone can enjoy.

I want to believe these are all hand cut, but even if they are machine cut, the video is cool as heck and I actually like the song. Check it out!

Today is a day to kill time I guess, not quite the beginning of the week and not quite hump day yet but that doesn’t mean you can’t break up the monotony. Check out this amazing footage from these talented people from all walks of life as you jam along with the new single from Hadouken called Levitate.

The footage is pretty incredible and covers rollerskating to snowboarding, basketball to cliff jumping and then some I am not even sure how to name. I wanted to pick out some highlights but they just keep getting better as the video moves along. Sit back and turn up the music and enjoy!

Team O’Neill was in Aspen with Seb Toots, David Wise, Maxence Parrot and Aspen Spora for the X Games Aspen 2013.

The competition got underway at Buttermilk Mountain this past Thursday, January 24th during the X Games Aspen 2013, and Team O’Neill was represented throughout the day. David Wise started where he finished off last year, placing first in the Ski SuperPipe elimination round. In Snowboard Slopestyle, Max Parrot wowed the crowd by placing third.

An action-packed day at X Games Aspen 2013 saw David Wise earn a repeat gold medal with two legendary runs that scored 94.66 and 95.66, landing the first back-to-back double cork 1260s in competition history along the way.

Before the finals, 12-year-old Aspen Spora dazzled the crowd and gave X Games fans a glimpse of the future with a SuperPipe forerun in front of a live national audience.

All of Aspen was talking about the O’Neill Experience at X Games 2013! On Saturday, X Games rookie snowboarder Max Parrot took silver with the first-ever backside triple cork in Slopestyle history. O’Neill teammates Celia Miller and gold medalist David Wise were in attendance to cheer on Max during the competition, while Seb Toots and Aspen Spora took in a busy day at Buttermilk, with autograph sessions, photoshoots and media interviews.

G-STAR CAMPAIGN – THE ART OF RAW FEATURING SKRILLEX

Take a look at G-Star’s new Spring/Summer 2013 campaign: The Art of RAW. The campaign captures the G-Star fascination with the many facets of RAW in unexpected combinations, as seen in the Skeleton Dog art object within the campaign and the artist collaboration with electronic dance music producer Skrillex.

The G-Star Spring/Summer 2013 campaign centrepiece is an animated video showcasing the denim manufacturing process. From cotton to yarn, from the dying process to weaving the warp and weft, each step is important in creating a qualitative denim fabric. The video supports the G-Star passion of this beautiful fabric and shows the exploration for new denim horizons.

The Art of RAW video features G-Star’s fascination for raw denim in unexpected combinations such as the Skeleton Dog, which stars in the campaign. Accompanying the Art of RAW video is a custom track created by Skrillex. He is a natural fit for the artist collaboration; RAW talent, self-made digital music pioneer and genuine fan of the G-Star Elwood denim. Currently, Skrillex is packing stadiums with his signature sound, “a mixture of dubstep, electro-house and fidget,” in the words of the producer. G-Star appreciates Skrillex as a RAW talent who has developed in a range of disciplines, from lead-singer, to solo artist, to producer with his own record label.

PM: You bring a very different sound, and as a result perform for great crowds. How would you describe your music?
I like to make music that is harmonically explosive and endearing no matter what the size of the crowd or the sound system. It is very visceral, especially in sub (sonic) frequencies, so it also benefits from great sound. It’s 3 dimensional, it’s meant to wake you up, and can be felt on a cellular level – but it’s always changing.

PM: How did the collaboration between you and G-Star come about?
Actually natural, as I already wore their stuff, and we are already mutual fans.

PM: Can you explain what the collaboration is about?
It was a way for us all to come together and experiment artistically. Coming together to create this fantastic video piece was just exciting and new for everybody involved on the project. That’s the thing about adverts, they can either be cheesy and solely used as marketing tool, or they can be a great excuse to do something different and expressive. I truly believe, we made something AWESOME together.

PM: What kind of track did you make for G-Star?
It’s a signature Skrillex track.

PM: How did the G-Star video inspire your track?
It’s an inspiring video, I can’t really explain how it exactly inspired me, it just did.

Check out the quadruped BigDog robot created by Boston Dynamics. Originally designed for the military and funded by (DARPA Defense Advanced Research Project’s Agency), the BigDog Robot can negotiate terrain up to 35 degrees, ice, debris and basically be your mechanical mule.

Now they’ve added a throwing arm which is quite impressive allowing the robot to hurl a cinder block about 15 feet using it’s entire body weight to both balance and generate momentum like a human would.

What would you use a throwing arm for? Picture a soldier under fire perhaps, stuck under ruble or perhaps to throw a grenade, investigate a hostile building… The possibilities are endless. The multi-purpose BigDog can also run at 5 miles per hour, not quite as fast as it’s sibling the Cheetah, which can achieve up to 28 miles per hour, but much more versatile.

If you haven’t seen it before, check out the video below, the BigDog resembles two human bodies from the waist down facing one another, attached at the hip, kind of like something out of the Beatles movie, The Yellow Submarine.

The organic movements and constant corrections to negotiate terrain and maintain balance is a bit erie but amazing. Check out the guy shoving the BigDog with a kick.

Generation Um starring Keanu Reeves, Bojana Novakovic and Adelaide Clemens, in theaters May 3rd 2013. The world is downtown New York City, present day – from the point of view of a driver for an escort service. John (Keanu Reeves), a quietly sexy withdrawn guy, is finally ageing out of his young, trendy neighborhood, dealing with the beginnings of the next chapter of his life.

John’s friends are the party girls he works for – Violet (Bojana Novakovic), an unstoppable entertainer whose weathered beauty and self-proclaimed wisdom are matched only by her lack of audience; and Mia (Adelaide Clemens), the new girl with the dark past, whose traffic-stopping sensuality has brought her nothing but victimization. Both survive on their ability to manipulate men, and don’t know how to live any other way. But John, they trust. And through their relationship, all three find a comforting and humorous refuge from the downward spiral of their self-destructive but entertaining lifestyles.

The end of another night out for this odd family of circumstance sets the stage for an all too familiar day spent coming to terms with and reveling in the lives they have unintentionally created for themselves.

When John impulsively steals a camcorder, he decides to capture the sights, sounds, and senses of New York – or rather, his sights, sounds, and senses. He records nature, people, himself. Today. John’s experiment takes a new turn when he pans the camera’s attention to his Party Girls. Violet is gung-ho, ready at a moment’s notice to become the center of attention before the focus fades away. Mia is less enthused, but finds herself opening up to the promise of a spectator.

John’s camcorder unravels the girls’ lives, as both Violet and Mia find themselves attempting to outdo one another’s secrets and opinions.

Check out the official trailer for Iron Man 3! The Epic Saga of Iron Man continues in the 3rd installment that promises intensity and a struggle against a new foe, Mandarin played by Ben Kingsly.

The tone of Iron Man 3 is a darker and more serious one, along the lines of a graphic novel but not without the token comedic jokes sprinkled in. BMW released the Concept 90 to celebrate 90 years of BMW Motorrad This Bike pays tribute to the classic BMW R 90 S motorcycle, a classic bike that celebrates its 40th birthday this year. The new single “Prison” is a catchy rave anthem, which is inspired by the happy days of 90s Eurodance. However, there’s nothing happy about the lyrics, which are about the desire to set everything on fire and burn it down. The video for “Prison” (directed and edited by Lucy Love herself) is an up-close and fast pace black-and-white portrait of different personalities.

“Prison” is the first single from Lucy Love’s upcoming third album ”Desperate Days of Dynamite” which will be released on the 23rd of September on Lucys own label Superbillion Records.
